Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Ken is responsible for the overall strategic, technical, operational and financial success of Allied. His primary responsibilities involve strategic planning, the enhancement of internal and customer-facing technology systems and networks, and ensuring that the operational and financial resources at Allied are running in an efficient and effective manner. His vision led Allied to be the first Internet Service Provider (ISP) in the Washington, DC region to deploy cutting-edge technology that delivers fiber-optic quality broadband Ethernet LAN services over existing copper wires. Under Ken’s leadership, Allied also expanded its services to include next-generation DWDM fiber-optic broadband services and business-class hosted VOIP telephone service. Ken completed his studies in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Drexel University in 1983.
Chief Financial Officer
Kathy has served as Allied’s Chief Financial Officer since September 2012. In her role, She is responsible for the overall financial strategy and day-to-day financial operations and administration of the company. Kathy is a highly accomplished finance and operations executive with expertise in fast growing and dynamic entrepreneurial companies and has a track record of assembling and leading high performance teams. With 20 years in the telecommunications and software industries, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise from her previous executive roles at Razorsight Corporation, Innovectra Corporation, Wisor Telecom and NET2000 Communications. During her career, Kathy has overseen a variety of finance and operations functions, including strategic planning, business analysis, general accounting, human resources, revenue assurance, network cost audit, service delivery and customer service, and has extensive experience in raising capital, deal structuring and negotiations. Kathy has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from George Mason University and a CPA Designation from the State of Virginia.
Chief Network Architect and Chief Security Officer
Walter is responsible for the overall success of all engineering initiatives at Allied. He is responsible for ensuring that Allied’s core infrastructure and engineered products are developed, implemented and maintained with excellence. Walter has been in the network and telecommunications industry for over 20 years. He spent six years in the United States Army working in the Cryptologic/Cryptographic communications division. While serving at the Pentagon, he was responsible for integrating cryptographic technologies with emerging TCP/IP based networks. In the private sector, Walter worked for High-Tech International in a Project Management/Sr. Engineering role. In this position he developed a secure web-based application process in support of Federal Grant Payments, and designed and implemented the data networking security model to support the grants management process, which passed, without exception, the annual SAS-70 audit. Walter holds a BS/EE with a minor in Computer Science, as well as various specific certificates in applied cryptography, security and other data networking disciplines.
Director of Revenue Operations
Melanie is responsible for the overall success of Revenue Operations at Allied. Her primary responsibilities involve management of the daily revenue operations. Melanie has worked in the telecommunications industry for more than ten years. She spent four years with Birch Telecom, building the Texas market and developing the company’s sales operations policies and procedures. Her background also includes key positions at Cavalier Telephone where she served as the Business Care Manager for the Richmond Call Center where she was responsible for the inbound and outbound call center, all account retention efforts, data entry of all business orders, and all sales support activities. Melanie has completed several business communication courses and is a certified Salesforce Administrator.
Vice President of Operation
Kevin is responsible for the development and delivery of Allied’s services to our customers, as well as leading the Operations and Engineering teams. He has over 25 years of extensive experience in telecommunications and has been successful in transforming business operations through building effective teams, rationalizing processes and creating a shared goal of improving the customer experience. Kevin is extremely customer and service delivery focused, having revolutionized service delivery in telecommunications by focusing on customer perception, reducing delivery intervals by 33% to 60% at NYNEX, Pathnet, and Telepacific & Cambrian while simultaneously reducing cost in each instance; as the head of operations for Enterprise Consulting Partners led the transformation of processes and methodologies to position the company to grow revenues and increase profitability; and turned around various projects at MCI that lead to improved on time delivery from 0% to 85%. He has a MS in Telecom Management from Brooklyn Polytechnic University and a BS in Sciences and Engineering from the US Military Academy at West Point.
Director, Service Delivery
Alex is responsible for leading, managing and mentoring Allied’s Service Delivery Project Managers, Provisioners, and Field Technicians; as well as managing the complete lifecycle of the implementation experience for customers – starting with planning and network design, to provisioning and activating Allied’s data and voice services. Alex leads the charge in ensuring services are delivered on time and in accordance with Allied and industry best practices. Alex has over six years of experience in the telecom arena of VOIP, Broadsoft Broadworks and M6CAS, and local number portability. Alex is also an avid tennis player and holds a USPTA certification.
National Director of Channel Sales
William Lombardo joined Allied Telecom as National Director of Channel Sales in January of 2015. Mr. Lombardo is responsible for Allied’s Channel Partner Sales organization which is comprised of an experienced and dedicated team of Channel Development Managers as well as a skilled product and quoting support team. Mr Lombardo is also responsible for the future growth and success of Allied’s Channel partner program as the company continues to expand its product offerings,network and footprint.
Mr. Lombardo is a 15 year veteran in the IT services and telecommunications industries with an extensive background facilitating successful partnerships with agents and value added resellers. He is experienced with domestic and international network services and design as well as infrastructure and collocation services. Prior to joining Allied Telecom, Mr. Lombardo was a Director of Partner and Channel Sales for GTT and Core180. Prior to that Mr. Lombardo was a Senior Marketing Manager for Qwest Communications. and provided channel management support at Broadwing Communications (now Level-3) & Sprint.
Mr. Lombardo holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Real Estate from the American University in Washington, DC.
Senior Vice resident of Engineering
Christopher Flores joined Allied Telecom as Senior Vice President of Engineering in 2014. Mr. Flores is responsible for Allied’s Engineering organization which is comprised of Network Engineering, Voice Engineering and IT. Mr. Flores is also responsible for contributing to the future evolution of the overall network architecture.Mr. Flores is a 17-year veteran of the telecommunications industry with an extensive background in architecture and engineering with a specific concentration in network and voice. Prior to joining Allied Telecom, Mr. Flores was Senior Director of Network & Voice Engineering for Cbeyond (now Birch Communications). Prior to that, Mr. Flores held leadership and individual contributor positions at Cypress Communications, Deutsche Telekom (T-Mobile & T-Systems), OnFiber Communications (now Centurylink), Broadwing Communications (now Level-3) & Sprint.Mr. Flores holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Vice President of Sales
Nina has served as Vice President of Sales since September of 2014. In her role, she is responsible for strategy and execution of all direct and indirect (channel) sales targeting federal, state and local government, K-12 erate and higher education, carrier/ wholesale services, and commercial enterprise accounts. Nina is also responsible for all marketing efforts and sales operations. Nina brings to Allied over 20 years of experience in growing companies from start-up to fully realized business concern; servicing Fortune 1000 and government entities across the US and around the world. Nina developed her sales, marketing and operational experience in industries to include telecommunications, Telecom Expense Management (TEM), supply chain management software and other business to business related professional services. In addition to serving Allied as VP of Sales, Nina volunteers her time to serve as Vice Chairman on the Greater Washington Area Advisory Board for Childhelp; the nation’s oldest and largest non-profit dedicated to the prevention, intervention and treatment of child abuse.
Director of Finance & Accounting
Mohammed is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations, as well as the financial reporting and analysis and forecasting and budgeting functions. He works closely with the CFO to develop financial metrics and performance indictors to provide actionable data to the Allied management team. Mohammed is a seasoned finance and accounting professional with 16 years of extensive experience in accounting and financial operations, budgeting and forecasting, and the telecommunications industry. He most recently worked at one of the largest telecom operators in the Middle East, Syriatel. Mohammed has expertise in the ISO-9000 certification process as well as developing and managing the policies, procedures, and work flows for successfully passing the period audits. He has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Damascus University.
