Allied Telecom helps students transition from remote to in-person learning by making a donation to the DC Education Equity Fund.

[Washington, D.C.]: Allied Telecom announced its commitment to ensure digital equity for students in Washington, D.C. by making a donation to the DC Education Equity Fund. The donation will provide students with internet and device access as they transition from remote to in-person learning.

While distance learning became new for most families, for many in our community it also means immediate challenges to ensure digital equity. There currently is an urgent need to ensure that all DC students—especially those furthest from opportunity—are provided the resources and support they need to continue their education.

“We understand that limited education budgets can hinder a school’s ability to provide students with the tools they need to learn,” said Ken Williams, Founder and CEO of Allied Telecom.

Funds received will be used for:

  • Ensuring students’ basic needs are being met so they are ready to learn
  • Providing students with internet and device access
  • Support for students to have a successful transition with additional learning resources when school buildings reopen

“At Allied, we’ve helped K-12 school systems, colleges, universities, and libraries with the communication tools they need to teach, lead, and connect. We are proud to do our part and support the DC Education Equity Fund with our Allied Cares program,” added Ken Williams.

Allied Cares represents Allied’s drive to support the people and organizations that make a positive impact on life in the DMV. To nominate a local nonprofit organization for consideration, message Allied Telecom on social media @AlliedTelecom.
