Ken Williams

Ken Williams

Founder, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer

Ken is responsible for the overall strategic, technical, operational and financial success of Allied. His primary responsibilities involve strategic planning, enhancing internal and customer-facing technology systems and networks, and ensuring that the operational and financial resources are running efficiently and effectively. His vision led Allied to be the first Internet Service Provider in the DC region to deploy cutting-edge technology that delivers fiber-optic quality broadband Ethernet LAN services over existing copper wires. Under Ken’s leadership, Allied expanded its services to include next-generation DWDM fiber-optic broadband services and business-class hosted VOIP telephone service. Ken completed his studies in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Drexel University in 1983.

Chief Operating Officer

Ron is responsible for guiding Allied through its ongoing rapid growth in the market. He is accountable for ensuring that the company maintains its best-in-class levels of network reliability, timely flawless service delivery, product quality, and customer satisfaction as Allied continues to expand the markets it addresses and enhances the portfolio of products, services and solutions it offers. Earlier in his career Ron spent twenty years at AT&T serving in a variety of assignments across the business, including executive roles in business process re-engineering and regional sales and operational management. For the past fifteen years he has led multiple businesses in the telecom sector through periods of dramatic revenue growth. In these efforts he has held titles of CEO, President, and Consultant. Ron has degrees from Baldwin-Wallace College and The Ohio State University.

Walter Ames

Walter C. Ames

Chief Network Architect and Chief Security Officer

Walter is responsible for the overall success of Allied’s engineering initiatives. He ensures that Allied’s core infrastructure and engineered products are developed, implemented and maintained with excellence. Walter has been in the network and telecommunications industry for over 20 years. He spent six years in the U.S. Army working in the Cryptologic/Cryptographic communications division. While serving at the Pentagon, he was responsible for integrating cryptographic technologies with emerging TCP/IP based networks. In the private sector, Walter worked for High-Tech International, designing and implementing the data networking security model to support grants management, which passed, without exception, the annual SAS-70 audit. Walter holds a BS/EE with a minor in Computer Science, as well as certificates in applied cryptography, security and other data networking disciplines.

Chief Information Officer

Trey is responsible for product development and engineering, as well as data analytics and business process improvement.  Trey joined Allied in 2012 and has held a number of roles, including Manager of Network Operations and Director of Engineering. During his time at Allied, Trey has successfully performed a number of roles, including special assignments to address mission critical issues company-wide. He has 20 years of technical and management experience across a variety of high-tech industries including telecom service providers, network equipment manufacturers, software development companies, technical consulting firms and systems integrators. Trey is a Juniper Network Certified Associate and holds a MEF Carrier Ethernet Certification.

Alex Laporte

Vice President, Operations

Alex joined Allied in 2013 to lead and mentor Allied’s Service Delivery Team. Alex was successful in driving process improvement initiatives and best practice standards to greatly reduce intervals and enhance the customer experience. This “white glove” implementation experience truly sets Allied apart from its competitors and establishes Allied as a trusted technology partner. As VP of Operations, Alex is responsible for leading Allied’s Network Operations, Network Planning, Customer Support, and IT Teams with the goal of continuing to build a world-class organization to drive Allied’s rapid growth into new markets. With over a decade of experience in UCaaS and ethernet last mile technologies, Alex is poised to position Allied favorably in the marketplace. Alex holds a degree in Political Science from Kenyon College and is a MEF 2.0 Carrier Ethernet Certified Professional.
