Field Service Technician

Job Overview

The Field Service Technician is responsible for supporting the company in the field during customer installations, repairs and network maintenance activities.

Responsibilities & Requirements

• Perform hands on installation and repair of xDSL, DS1, EFM, Ethernet, and Voice over IP technologies.
• Install copper and fiber cabling within customer and POP facilities and risers.
• Install equipment within customer and POP facilities and risers
• Interface directly with business customers and vendors.
• Utilize trouble shooting skills to identify and resolve issues quickly.
• Provide assistance to Engineering and NOCC staff for on-site maintenance at POP sites.
• Requires On-Call rotation for 24 x 7 duties.
• Driving license required and personal vehicle required.

• Cisco Hardware
• Local Area Networks/Wide Area Networks
• Industry standards and practices
• Basic understanding of electrical and HVAC infrastructure
• Test set utilization
• Ability to lift 75 lbs
• Use of standard hand tools
• High School Diploma or equivalent
